Japanese sumi ink, film, permanent paint marker. Subject/Description
In all my creative work—not only in fashion, but in every realm of design—I am guided by the principle of the “Beauty of Opposites.”
Pairs of forces like “yin” and “yang,” “white” and “black,” and forms such as the circle—which symbolizes perfect creations of nature, earth, and the universe—and the square—which represents human-made rational structures—embody the fundamental laws of the cosmos. Though these opposing elements stand in contrast, they simultaneously influence and shape one another. By limiting my color palette and eliminating decorative excess, I seek to uncover true beauty in the stark contrasts of simplicity. My work expresses boldness and delicacy, flows between stillness and motion, and ultimately embodies the very essence of “opposing extremes.” Archival Fund
