2022 Materials and Techniques
Printed and thermoformed recycled PMMA, recycled and thermoformed fluo PMMA, inox wire tie and colored aluminium wire. Subject/Description
I like asking questions and trying to find possible answers to problems. For example, I see my studio as a place where a set of problems is to be solved. Each problem solving generates new questions, new problems, and this tension creates the dynamics of the sculptures to come. Each work produced is just an arrangement of solutions in response to the ambient chaos. Before the preparatory drawing and sketch, I take in all these materials; I see them in three dimensions: twisting, moving, and mixing in a vital and luminous flow. This is what I wanted to materialize here. The Moleskine notebook remains closed at this moment; around it gravitates a complex flow of intermingled and chaotic materials; just enough to make one feel the tension of what will come next. He currently lives in Paris and works in Saint-Denis. After studying philosophy at the Faculty of Letters in Nice, he graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2015. His work results from a progressive hybridization of photography with sculpture and light installation. Most of the materials he uses come from reuse, which, beyond the anecdotal, determines the form and meaning of his latest works. The fragments of photographic images integrated into his pieces found an echo in these scraps of materials from the world of industry, destined for destruction, which he collects and transmutes into his hybrid sculptures. He participates in solo and group exhibitions in France and abroad ("As it comes", Karl Marx Studio, Paris, 2021; "Low tech", Meyrin, Switzerland, 2021; "Detour", Los Angeles, 2020; "Horology", Jack Hanley Gallery, New York City, 2019). He conceives site-specific public works (Program "A building, a work of art", Saint-Denis, 2022) and permanent works in private collections and foundations. Personal data
